Amber alert - 3 boys missing in Michigan

Dozens have searched for three missing boys along the Michigan-Ohio border since saturday, when it became obvious that nobody outside of the family had seen: 5-year-old Tanner Skelton, 7-year-old Alexander William Skelton and 9-year-old Andrew Skelton since thursday. Their father, John Skelton, who currently is in a mental facility after surviving a suicide attempt, has claimed that he dropped them off friday morning, with a woman he met on the internet, to keep them from finding his body after he had killed himself.
He told police that the woman, a Joann Taylor, whom he allegedly met on the internet, was supposed to drop the boys off at their home in Morenci, a southern Michigan town, about 40 miles west-northwest of Toledo.
But the boys never showed up and, authorities still aren't sure if John Skelton's story, including Joann Taylor's existence, is true or a fabrication.
According to the Amber Alert, Taylor may have been from Jackson or Hillsdale counties and may be driving a silver van. However, they have yet to confirm she is real and, if so, if she is with the boys.
The alert notes that Tanner is 3 feet, 6 inches tall, has strawberry blond hair, has blue eyes and weighs about 40 pounds. Alexander is 3 feet, 9 inches tall, has brown hair and eyes, weighs about 45 pounds and has scars on his hairline and chin. The oldest brother, Andrew, is 4 feet, 1 inch tall, has brown hair and eyes and weighs roughly 57 pounds.

I hope that this isn't just another deeply disturbed parent who never should have had children. Unfortunately it's more than possible that his suicide attempt was made because he killed his boys. There's been enough of those stories around for it to be one of the first things that enters my mind when something like this happens. And the longer they are missing the less likely it becomes that they are somewhere safe. It just seems like a strange thing to do, even if the father had decided to end his life, and must have been deeply depressed, and under a lot of stress. Cause if he still was rational enough to not want the kids to find him, Why wouldn't he have left them with their mom, a friend, a neighbour, or anybody but some mistery online acquaintance... It just doesn't sound right... But I hope, hope, hope that they are somewhere safe...

This doesn't sound good at all. I hope I am mistaken.

As you say, I fear for the lives of these three young boys. I hope they're found safe and well, but the father's story does sound improbable.

Thank you all for reading, and for your kind words. Unfortunately there's still no sign of the boys.

This breaks my heart. I hope they are found soon. I can't imagine being not knowing where my family is. :(

This sure is a sad story and really makes you wonder where the extended family and neighborhood friends were in this situation. Perhaps the father was delusional? If he was he could have handed off the children to a pedophile ring without realizing it - if his odd story is true. I mean, who hands off their kids to someone they meant on the internet??? It's insane.

When you get any news be sure to post it - meanwhile, I'll keep praying for the kids one way or the other it turns out. Thanks for contacting me over at BlogCatalog Directory, much appreciated.

I know what you mean Tricia, it breaks my heart too. I can't imagine life without my son. Not knowing where he was would kill me.

This is true Denny, noone in their right mind would ever do such a thing. It seems however like the police don't believe his story. I'll make sure to post an update as soon as I know more. Thank you for taking the time to read and letting me know what you think.
