Keep the candles lit for the victims of the terror attack but, don't forget to keep your heart burning for the right to freedom

When I went to bed last night, everybody of course already knew about the explotion that blew up the government building in Oslo Norway. They were also talking about 20 kids who were participating at the summer camp for the social democrats, or labour parti, being shot down at Utøya, a little island about 40 km from the capital.
Y it was the islamists of course. After all they are responsable for most terror atacks these days. But why? It was so hard to believe that it was really happening. In Israel or Egypt or even the United States, but in Norway? What could there possibly be to gain from attacking our peaceful prosperous neighbour?
Well, the morning came with the news that in fact it wasn't the muslims at all. The man responsable for the killing spree, was Anders Behring Breivik, a norwegian 32-year-old, with right-wing extremist preferences. A former member of a populist anti-immigration party , who described himself on his Facebook page as leaning toward right-wing Christianity. It's However hard to find anything christian about this morning's terible news. Over 500 kids had been hunted like animals during 2 nightmarish hours at the island and, 84 of them are dead so far. Along with the 7 who got killed in the bomb attack in Oslo.
The killer was dressed in a police uniform so as to be able to get close to his victims, who were trying to hide as best they could. A lot of them tried to jump into the water and swim to safety, but they were easy targets for the murderer with his automatic weapon. Police say that they may still be more bodies yet to be found in the water and, 9 kids are still missing.
Utøya, the name of a summer paradise, a place for creating wunderful memories to look back upon for the rest of your life.

It's hard to take in. I went to such camps myself as a teenager and, it's suppose to be a place for hanging out with old friends and, meeting new ones, A place for interesting activities and discussions during the day and, sneaking out of bed to stay up later than you're allowed to at night. Perhaps to go for a stroll with that cute guy or gal, and, maybe fall in love for the first time, or sometimes just for the fun of breaking the rules. Utöya, the name of a paradise...
Now it's the name of a massacre. A version of hell 2011, where new friends screamed and ran for their lives and, old friends fell and thrashed in agony. Where teenagers were forced to watch their first love die and, leave him or her behind to save themselves.

The name of a nightmare, Where children spent long hours of horror at a level that those of us who weren't there can't even begin to understand.
My heart goes out to the survivers who will have to live with these memories for the rest of their lives. I keep a candle lit for the dead and the wounded and, My thoughts are with them and their families tonight.
But I'll also keep my heart burning for freedom and the right to an open democratic society. We live in a part of the world where you have the right to belong to which political parti you want, you can go to which ever meetings you prefer, participate in any kinds of discussions and, walk down the street in a demonstration martch for what ever you may believe in, or you can go to a political summer camp to find others who think like you. This is also a part of the world where you could bump into the prime minister on the street or, at the store for that matter. All of that is part of freedom and, that's Something that the terrorists, whether they're organized or just lonely mad men and, no matter their idiology, will never be able to take from us, as long as we stand united.
"One person with belief is equal to the force of 100,000 who have only interests.", those were the murderers words on his twitter account. Lets prove to him and the rest of the world, that one person with a strong belief in evil, will never be equal to someone with an interest in doing good, much less a hundrad thousand. Evil will never take you as far as the interest in democracy, equality and, humanism!

Big brother is watching

I got payed today, so the christmasshopping could finally begin. I hate christmasshopping! It's fun to pick out gifts and make people happy, but there's way to many people everywhere. It's driving me nuts! More over, you'd think that most of them were blind, the way they keep bumping into you all the time.
I know, I know, we should try to get it knocked out earlier, but money is always an issue.

We meant to get some of it done during the weekend, but Swedbank had other plans for us.
Apparently they spotted suspicious activity in my account and, instead of calling me to make sure that it was actually frodual, they decided that cancelling my card would be a great idea. Of course, they did this friday afternoon, after all the bankoffices were closed and, they still didn't have to call me to notify me, so we didn't discover it until my card was declined when we were trying to pay for our groseries at the store.

The banks are closed during the weekends over here, so if you don't have an extra creditcard lying around, you're basically screwed until 10:00 monday morning. I called the customer service of course, but according to them it was unfortunate that it happened friday afternoon, but their policy says that all they have to do is notify you by maile, which by the way takes 3 business days.

Now don't think that they automatically send you a new card either... Oh no... You have to reapply for one, but at least I could do that over the phone. But it takes 3 business days before you get the new card as well, and around christmas time it usually takes longer, since the post offices are rather busy during that time.

Needless to say, I think this is rediculous! How can they be allowed to leave you without any chance of getting money out for 2 days, without even making sure that the transactions weren't actually made by you? You'll get pretty freaking hungry in 2 days people!

I'm glad they're keeping trak of what goes on in my acount, but they should only be allowed to put a temporary blok on your card until they can get a hold of you and make sure that they are right in their observations. And they should definitely have to call you and notify you!!! It's my card and my account damn it!!!

I guess it goes well with the "big brother" mentality over here though...
Just last week, the parliament were going to vote about a new law, that basically means that they'll keep track of all your online activity. They're already able to do that, if your under suspicion for a crime, but now they want to make it mandatory to keep track of everybody.

The information is suppose to be saved for at least 6 months in cirtain databases.
I realise that this would be a great way to catch terrorists, pedophiles, and other such trash. The problem is however, that all databases have week spots and, can therefore be hacked.

After the election over here in september, somebody hacked the member registry of the racist party over here and, put all the names up online. Tobbes girlfriend is working for the green party and, she was all over the front page, being called a racist, cause she ordered material from the Sweden Democrats, just to find out what problems they would actually have to deal with from them. Now you understand that this is already a problem.

More over, all you have to do is take a look at the recent scandal with:

If the US government can be compromised that easily, everybody's gonna be at risk if such a law is enforced. Sexual orientation and, political preference etc, will no longer be privat matters and, could easily be found by anyone and, shared with anyone.
I do believe that we should get as many bad guys off the streets as possible, but not at the expense of integrity!

38-year-old arrested for The serial shootings in Malmö

Two weeks ago, someone blew a hole in the front dore of the apartment building where my sister and her fiancé live. It was suspected to be the work of the serial shooter who's been targeting immigrants for the last year in Malmö, Sweden. My sisters fiancé is as much swedish as I am, but he's father is from Marocco, and with his 6 foot 5 he's easy to spot, so it has been an unnerving 2 weeks for all of us. Especially since the gunman has often been at work in their neighbourhood.
After saturday however, It seems like the residents of Malmö, and all their relatives, will at last be able to breathe more easily after a 38-year-old man finally was arrested for the serial shootings this past year. Before the arrest the police suspected that the mystery shooter could be responsable for as many as 15 seperat shootings, each involving victims with immigrant backgrounds, which naturally have resulted in parallels with the 'Laser Man' shootings in Stockholm of the early 1990s, in which most of the nearly one dozen victims were immigrants.

Now imagine my sisters surprise when it turns out she knows the man who they've arrested. They both worked as dental technicians at Örestad in Mölmö about 2 years ago. The man was kind of odd she says, but the others at their job treated him as an outcast, and he was ostracised by almost everyone. So when she first heard the news from a collegue at her new job, who had talked to someone from Örestad, she told the person to take it with a pinch of salt, since everybody were talking about him over there already, and there even were roomers about him having threatened someone with a knife, but nobody seemed to know exactly what had happened, or who it had happened to for that matter. It could just be people running their evil mouths again. Unfortunately they were right though, it is him, And I can't help but wonder if the way they treated him was a contributing factor to why he snapped. If it is him that is, but there seems to be pretty strong evidence against him. The weapons he had in his possession being among those things.

These are the possible shootings:
October 10th 2009: Trez West Persson, 20, is shot to death in a car close to the Ögårds park, Ögårdsparken. She is on her first date with a man who's on furlough from prison, and at first it was suspected that the shootings had something to do with his drug related past. the man is severely injured but survives. This is the murder The 38-year-old is arrested for.
December 30th 2009: several shots are fired towards an imam outside the mosque at Rosengård, which is said to be one of the worst ghettos in Europe.
January 25th 2010: two men are shot at on Rasmus street, Rasmusgatan. a 17-year-old is hit in the chest, and a 36-year-old takes a bullit in his leg.
Mmarch 12th 2010: several shots are fired towards an apartment building on Hårds väg, Hards road.
March 16th 2010: Two men 21 and 22 years old, are in a car on Professors street, Professorsgatan, when someone fires shots at them. One of them is hit in the leg, and the other one gets a way with a hole in his cap.
June 19th 2010: Three men are shot at outside of Aq-va-kul, the in dores water park down town.One of them merely gets a scratch, and the other two get away without injuries.
June 26th 2010: In the middle of the night, a 30-year-old man is shot in the back at a gym at Lorensborg.
June 27th 2010: around midnight, a 29-year-old man is shot in the sholder at a parking lot outside Fosie livs, a store at Lindängen, which is another area with a bad reputation in Malmö.
August 24th 2010: a shot is fired towards a hamburger place on Copenhagen Road, Köpenhamnsvägen, the bullit barely missed the owner.
October 10th 2010: Around midnight, a 47-year-old man is shot at a bus stop at maple street, Lönngatan.
October 19th 2010: around 8 PM, a 28-year-old man is waiting for the bus at Eriksfälts Street, Eriksfältsgatan, when someone fires a bullit which penetrates his lung. He survives, but he is very lucky.
october twenty third 2010: shots are fired towards the owner of a tailoring shop and a barbershop on maple street, Lönngatan, .

As you can see, There have been several shootings, the official suspicion however says, one murder, and 7 murder attempts, but the police refuses to disclose which shootings this would involve. I guess we should keep in mind that this only means that there's 8 shootings where they think they have enough evidence to get a sentence, but it still opens up the possibility that someone else has been taking advantage of the suspicion of an insane racist being at work, to be able to get rid of cirtain people.

if you stand for nothing, you'll fall for anything

The 4th of October was the day when the racist party, the Sweden Democrats officially took their seats in the swedish parliament, something that forever is going to tarnish the history of this country. Unfortunately it has also become obvious that they'll have final say in every single one of the 15 standing committees, which only is possible because we're going to be stuck with a minority government this time. I still can't understand how it could happen, but we gotta look forward, and focus on the future. I don't know about you, but I promise myself to do everything in my power, to make sure that the ones who were lulled in to a false sense of security by the Sweden Democrats, or any racist organization, will realise what they're all about. It's extremely sad how they were able to get votes from people who aren't really rasist, with lies, lies, and more lies. People who's never even voted once before in their lives went to cast their votes for them, all because of their fear inducing tactics. If you stand for nothing; you'll fall for anything, is very true in this case. We'll just have to keep reminding ourselves that 94,3 % did not vote for this, and there were numorous demonstrations all over the country today to prove it. me and my son went to the one here in my town of course. He's a bit yung maybe, but I want him to be a part of this. It's so important that he learns that we're all equal, and that the battle isn't lost, it's never lost! I read recently that as much as 98,5 %, or something in that vecinity, of all human DNA is exactly the same, so it's just the remaining 1,5 % or so that makes us unique. I think it's something all of us should keep in mind from time to time. I'm very glad that so many people were there to show their support for human dignity and the equal worth of all lives . The quote of the day was definitely: "I have a suggestion, if all of us who didn't vote for racism join the Sweden Democrats today, we'll take over their party, and just shut down the damn thing in no time!"

The wind of change

A cold wind is blowing over Europe. A wind of fear, hatred, and despair, and racism is getting stronger than ever. .I'm ashamed to admit that after the election on the 19th of september, Sweden now has a racist parti in the parlament. It doesn't exactly come as a surprise that 5,7 % of the voters are total idiots, but who'd have thought they'd be so extremely organized.
The Swedish political right extremist party, The Sweden Democrats, have managed to cause controversy more than anything else, to gain power among the voters. Their leader, Jimmie Åkesson, recently published a very controversial debate article in the Swedish newspaper "Aftonbladet", where he makes various claims about Muslims being the new threat to the Swedish welfare system.
It is clear that Åkesson use sweeping statements and even direct lies, such as claiming that Europe will have the highest rape statistics in the world, and that Muslim men will be overrepresented. This is nothing new and basically just said to induce fear, the truth remains that most rapes today are commited by white middle-class men no one would expect to be rapists, and neither do they, hence the usual complete denial. A lot of men who are white and belong to the middle-class are rarely convicted simply because the judges still believe them, even when the evidence is mounting, all because they are white middle-class men. We do not perceive them of being capable of raping, even when there is overwhelming evidence presented. The reason why is simply what Åkesson just expressed in his article; we rather believe in the dark ambusher coming from an Arab country, hiding in a shrubbary in the park, or in the darkest corner of the parking lot, just ready to attack.
I live in a pretty immigrant-dense part of my town, and there is a local store here that sell Halal meat. I can’t really say it bothers me more than I think it is unethical to drain an animal of blood while it is still alive, as I consider it a form of animal cruelty. I can't say that I've ever felt less safe than anywhere else, when walking alone at night in my area because of it either. A lot of families with little children live here, and the worst thing I usually experience are teenagers who drive around with their mopeds in the middle of the night. I have also yet to meet a person who is clearly mean to me. I've however met a crasy swedish lady though, who told me that people could easily get murdered in the laundryroom, just because I still had some clothes left to fold when she came in there to start her laundry. The washing machines were empty though, so it's not like I was occupying anything she needed. Hmm, does that mean that all swedish ladies are crazy?
Being blind, I often have to ask people for help; there's simpely no other way to know which train just arrived to the platform, or if the bus I need is second or fifth in line. You understand, that I also need help at the store, since there's no other way to find what I need,, and so on. Well, folks, I can tell you that out of the ones who are most willing to help, and the ones who always offer to help without me asking for it, 90 % has an accent telling me that their origen is not swedish. And as far as the rest goes, well, there's a lot of people around who are fluent in our language, so who knows...
Instead of actually explaining how he would like to proceed to solve the issues with identity crisis among second- and third generation immigrants, Åkesson takes to fear-inducing tactics. What’s worse is the huge support SD have started to gain among the general population, so obviously it is working. I wish people were less blind and could actually see that Åkesson offers NOTHING to solve the problem, he's just stating, time after time, what is wrong in our society. He doesn't have a solution, just empty threats and promises. So what is Åkesson going to do once he get to power? Kick out all immigrants from Sweden? That is obviously not going to work, no matter how you look at it. Other than the obvious reasons, the Swedish birthrate is too low.
I should add that naturally any identity to the grandparents’ country is lost at the third generation as they become completely immersed within their “host” country, so I am not sure what kind of statistics Åkesson took part of, but it’s very contradictory to what I’ve learned. So I don’t see why Åkesson is quite worried. Yes, angsty teenagers in the suburbs are a problem, but they aren’t angsty because they are Muslims, they are angry and lost, because the politicians do nothing to improve their situation and ultimately they become marginalized from society! One would expect our politicians to learn that it doesn’t work to dump immigrants in one dense place. God knows we have enough american tv-shows over here to know what will happen in Sweden in the future if we don’t try to spend money to improve the situation. Or are we so americanized now that we must strive to incorporate ghettos in our bigger citties as well?
Last, there are a lot of claims made about what is Swedish, but neither Åkesson nor anyone from SD ever offer any form of explanation of what they mean by being Swedish. Am I Swedish for having a Swedish name and a Swedish id number. Is my friend Elvira, who was adopted from Vietnam and came to Sweden when she was 3 months old as swedish as I am? Or is she just an evil immigrant here to poison the country and the so called Swedish culture because of her Vietnamees inheritage? Though I guess they do answer that question, since they want to stop all adoptions of children from outside of Europe. Is my niece Nathalie swedish? She has never met her father, but he's part greek, part australian. How does that change things in the eyes of a Swedish democrat? My sisters fiancé is part Moroccan, but I don't think he's even been to Marocco, though I may be wrong, the point is that he's definitely never lived there. Is he swedish? And will their children be considered swedish? Maybe he is less swedish cause he has an arabic name... And what about our european champion of 2008 in the showdown world? Can we say that that possition is held by Sweden, when Claudio is originally from Chile?
I am very concerned about what will happen with the current Swedish democracy and freedom of speech now that the Sweden Democrats have their seat in the swedish parliament. I do not deny Åkesson’s right to voice his opinions, but I do deny him the right to get into the Swedish parliament and I have actively done so by refusing to vote for him and his party, and by joining every organization that I've been able to find that is going to work against their atrocious values. Any person who only argues for the right for his own freedom of speech and his own social rights is only fooling himself if he claims to support a democratic society where everybody is equal.
I do agree with Åkesson that our current immigration is a huge issue and that we have yet to learn how to manage to deal with all the angry teenagers living in the suburbs. Clearly what our politicians are currently doing isn’t working, but this also includes Åkesson and his followers!
It should also be noted that SD got strong Christian roots, and they don't have any problems what so ever with defending their homofobia with that: "The bible says so." We're talking about that they want to deny homosexual women the right to insiminations, because gay people aren't fit to be parents. And they also want to prohibit marriage between people of the same sex. Is it really that strange that the 94,3 % who didn't vote for this stupidity think that the ones who did must be out of their minds? How is it possible to cast ones vote for such a retarded party that make claims of how dangerous Islam is and that the Koran is so dogmatic and then come running trying to say that the bible is better cause at least we got the New Testament which teaches people about turning the other cheek! Yeah, right, Cause that’s exactly what the Sweden Democrats are doing, right? Like referring to that passage in the NT ever stopped Christianity from oppressing societies here in the West in the past, or in the present for that matter. Cherrypicking, cherrypicking. Of course, Åkesson wouldn’t define his homophobia as oppressing, the Bible says so and therefore it is right. Now, maybe Åkesson should take a look at himself first and the claims he and his party make regarding domatism, before they have the right to critesize Islam.
If that isn't hypocrisy, I don't know what is! And one more thing people. Last time a party gained success using this kind of arguments, it ended with the murder of 6 million people in concentration camps all over europe. The second world war ended little more than 65 years ago, and you're already more than willing to buy the same bullshit! Shame on you!
